THE ARTIST

Pianos, beats & harmonies.  Nadia Burnstick is a singer-songwriter who has leaped from project to project for nearly two decades.  A multi-genre artist, she studied performance, songwriting and vocal technique at the École nationale de la chanson de Granby in 2002, then began her career releasing French ambient pop music.  No stranger to collaborative efforts, she went on to record the JUNO-nominated folk-roots album, Kîyânaw, as part of the duo Burnstick, with her husband and guitarist, Jason Burnstick.  Through every musical endeavor and through every genre, she always finds a way to infuse her songs with an unmistakable authenticity.  Nadia has won numerous awards including a Canadian Folk Music Award for Single of the Year for Burnstick's "Some Kind of Hell", a SOCAN Songwriter Award, Radio-Canada’s Muziklips, a Western Canadian Music Award as well as awards at the renowned Festival international de la chanson de Granby, Québec and Festival de Petite-Vallée.
