Pianos, beats & trampolines. Nadia Burnstick is a Winnipeg-based Métis singer-songwriter who has leaped from project to project for nearly two decades. A multi-genre artist, she began her career releasing French ambient pop music. No stranger to collaborative efforts, she worked in the electronic music duo, Over The Transom, then went on to record an award-winning children's lullaby album with her husband and guitarist, Jason Burnstick. Together, Burnstick proceeded to release the multi-nominated folk-roots album, Kîyânaw. Through every musical endeavor and through every genre, she always finds a way to infuse her songs with an unmistakable authenticity. Nadia has won numerous awards including a SOCAN Songwriter Award, Radio-Canada’s Muziklips, a Western Canadian Music Award as well as awards at the renowned Festival international de la chanson de Granby, Québec and Festival de Petite-Vallée.
Drawn to so many inspiring projects over the years, her plans to record and release her first solo English pop tracks have taken over a decade to actualize. Her first single, Point Breaking, is co-produced with long-time friend and music collaborator, Joseph Fiola. Refreshing pop with electronic influences, the single reflects on the choices we will make to heal our planet for the next generations, questioning what we can do with the lack of choice we are left with, and the overwhelming nature of it all. "At the crossroads, where will we go? Will we stand up with the screaming crowd or will we sleep through the growl?"
